Please help me choose.

Hi all, I am thinking of getting an effect's processor I have narrowed it down to a Boss 20B or a Zoom B3 which one would you go for and why? Also I need a drum machine (forget the zoom has one built in) and I have narrowed it down to a Boss DR88 or an Alesis SR18.
Again which would you go for and why............Looking forward to your help in choosing.

Are you sold on a processor? have you thought about individual pedals? multi units and more portable but you will get the best tone if you build it yourself, it will cost you more time and money but you will get the best that each company can offer in any given category.

A zoom B3, costs about $200... all those pedals, ESAU are WELL over $1K ...
for a foray into effects, the B3 is a REALLY good start... plus it does a lot of other realy cool things that a standard effects box cannot do (such as act like an interface to your computer and be a headphone amp for silent practce and recording).

For a drum machine, well again, zoom makes a very cool one, the RT-223
