Very different sounding amps. Listen and decide which works for you. If you like one, then ask for choices like that one.

    Hatred obscures all distinctions.
Not to sound negative, but let's not decide, use your ears instead! It' going to be your amp and your sound, not ours. But if you want my opinion, I like the Ashdown stuff over the Hartke.

What genre of music, catches your ear? I am an Ampeg man have been for 35 years... I am too prejudiced not to recommend finding vintage ampegs.. if you can afford to find yourself a B15N Portaflex. It is one of the most versatile Amps ever.

    Four string ya later!

I'm a new bass player. I have a Geddy Lee bass. As far as the music that I'd like to learn-Reggae, Funk & Blues (maybe some Rock also).

well, for reggae and blues, Ashdown seems better.
