Please help to choose a bass.

My boyfriend offered to buy me a new bass guitar. As of right now I been playing on old Peavey Grind that I purchased used. So, I am at the loss. I been in several Sam Ash and Guitar centers, they have plenty of Ibanez, Yamaha, Mitchell, Squire and Rays and Fenders, but very little anything else. As for now, I am sorta at loss of what to get.:
1. Washburn T-24. I have RED a LOT of very good reviews on it. But never had a chance to try it out.
2. ESP B-4. Same as above - good reviews but never played it.
3. Schecter Stiletto. I played it. Can't say that I was impressed.
4. ESP B-204SM. I played ESP B-206SM. Seem nice. Has same electronics as ESP B-4 bass but NOT neckthrough and different materials.

Any recommendations?

Hard to say. All of those basses are the right bass for someone. What kind of music do you like to play? What do you want from a bass? What price range are you both comfortable with? What do you dislike about your current bass?

Uhh, sorry. I mostly play metal. Nothing too extreme or "shredding". Dio, Blind Guardian, Savatage, Queensryche, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath. What do you not like about my Grind? It seems to lack... power. It has nice warm sound with a bit of a growl. I just want something with a bit more.. "juice". I know that T-24 is a JJ configuration. Bunch of bands I like use Jazz Bass. I like warm deep sound with some growl. Ideal Sound: Fender Deluxe American Classic. Of course it is 1700. I have about $500 between my BF and my own money. Why do I need a new bass? I do not need one. I just want something... new... Sorry for being more clear...
