hey guys,
i've met up with an issue with my band.

we were listing out some of the new songs we cld do and there's this song my lady singer really loves.

she's like "omg, i really love this, nice bassline" and in my mind i was "tht's the cheesiest sh!t i've ever heard". she proceeds to say tht she'll kick my arse if i dnt do it which i really dnt like what she said.

comes rehearsal and i've played smething similar (org had 3 notes, i played 4) and she keeps bitchn' abt it and demands i play it like the original cause she really loves it.

i got no problem playing like the original, just tht i hate the way she wants it her way and what she said abt kicking my arse if i dnt.

what shld i do?

Simple, just play it right. Had you played it correctly in the first place she wouldn’t be on your butt - just saying.

Seriously, what kind of hat were you wearing when you got totally emasculated in front of your band mates? It is important because I have been in some situations where otherwise peace would prevail until some guy showed up in the wrong hat. And then it was on like Donkey Kong. I was all like "It's you or the hat dude. One of you has to go." And then fistisses wuz flying around like bees and junk.

(In case you didn't pick up on my sarcasm, this was my way of telling you that you simply need to try to listen to the bass lines and if you are playing a SMASH HIT then play it like the record. Also, simply tell the girl to tone it down a bit when talking to you or you will put Sharpie markers in her eye liner. Pretty much this is a NON ISSUE that doesn't warrant a rant/vent/advice seeking on a forum. Grow a pair and take care of business. K sugartits?)

I recommend either getting over it, or quitting - but don’t let it eat at you. You really only have two choices - accept it or move on.

you see, i have a problem with anger management and all hell will break loose if i choose to confront, so don't want that to happen, bad past, hope you understand

Best way to avoid having to concede is to avoid being wrong.

She isn’t asking you to do it “her” way, but to cover it as it’s done.

Just say “Ah quit your whining, I’m just messin’ with ya; I’ll do it like the recording.”

She’ll probably say “THANK YOU!”, you smile, and it’ll be all good.

Well I can only speak for myself here, and I DO understand the anger management situation.

I have seen this exact scene with a wanna be DIVA.
She told me BLAH,BLAH,BLAH, I'll kick your a$$.

My reply : HMMMMMMM, I might be into that !

I am NOT actually into that, but it embarrassed her, AND shut her up.

That did not happen again.

IMO, you appear to be reacting more to the 'kick yer ass' part than just playing it like the original. It's one little thing, don't let it bother you. If you're gonna get mad, make it over something worthwhile. Choose your battles wisely.

we do make it a point to have some songs that will appeal to
guys and some songs that will appeal to girls

thing is, when the girls dance to the song the guys will follow. if they don't like the song nothing on earth will make them dance. in other words, it's better to appeal to girls.
