look at this (and follow the mighty Carol Kaye advice)
here are passages from Jason Newsted "damaged justice tour" solos as filmed in Seattle '89
he starts from chordal themes (not filmed here) then thru chorus/flanger mayhem as here, then slips into Burton's "to live is to die", always with chord progression and dual guitars filling aside him
finally "master of puppets"
Jason has always been criticized not bein' as technical as audience'd expect (from Cliff: part of the reason for praisin' Rob today) here you get how a few technical tricks can make you a way better and accomplished a musician
don't listen to guitards and drumtards, just leave'em deaf with your rig, as soon as you can... nothin' pushes air like a fully fledged angry bass!
