Our son asked me to propose a question, as he isn't a member here (yet). He is getting a new American Precision Bass -w- active electronics and drop "D". He was curious about the new strings that will be installed, as he's being given a choice. He has used Blue Steel in the past and likes Ernie Ball silvers.
He'd like recommendations. He does Not use a pick and never has. Their band plays all originals and I would describe the style as kind of punk, pop, ska. He does a lot of walking bass lines and some cords.
He uses 2 to 3 fingers and occasionally his thumb. Their band " F for Effort " can be seen on Facebook. Our son Peter is obviously on the right. The drummer is hidden behind amps at the camera angle.
