Plutoneium Bass Chi Wah Wah

funny ... i was wondering the same thing yesterday. for me envelope filters and wahwahs are totally different animals. i wish there would be more youtube demos, reviews and sound samples about the chi wah. i´m not 100% sure if im really gassin for one. i´m in the current mood of scaling down my pedal board (got lots of MXR pedals replacing my bigger pedals), so the chi wah got my attention. at the moment i have two wahwahs ... the MSD QuakeMachine is very big and heavy (Earth Quake State of the Arts Effects Bass Wah Wah) and the G-Lab WoWee Wah is very ugly (Invalid Link Removed), but both have many options and do their job great. i guess i will wait more to see if my GAS increases ...

I've found those threads and it shows about one or two users who seem to like the pedal, but it's sparse experience.
I'm really gassing for one because I've always wanted a wah pedal, but don't have pedalboard real estate for a big one, and my OCD won't allow me to keep a big Cry Baby 105Q (or some other large wah) outside my pedalboard. Now that I sold my MXR Bass Compressor, I have just the room for Bass Chi Wah Wah.
Time to roam the internet and if I like what I hear, time to order one!

Sounds like it's time for you to break the seal and go get one.

And once you do, post a full detailed review of the pedal and it's sounds under many different situations so that I can see if I really want one or not.:D

I just love the control and tone the manual wah gives you. I have an envelope filter that I use sometimes, but it doesn't really give me what I think wah would. There's just something in rocking the pedal that does it for me.

Awesome! Another happy camper!
It doesn't have true bypass though, but the buffer seems to be a lot better than cry baby's. The auto spring function is something that seems like a better solution for a pedal of such a small size IMO. I guess it's set then, I'm ordering one soon.

I have been very happy with my Dunlop 105Q, I love the tone, and the activation by merely stepping on the pedal, and the ability to adjust the Q and volume.

I just got the Chi wah wah, and I'm about to go swap out my 105Q on the board. The CWW has everything I like about the 105Q, plus the smaller footprint, easier access to the controls, a smaller throw of the pedal, (less movement = bigger results), and it seems just a little bit cleaner, quieter, and more pungent in the filtering. It also does one other thing that is particularly cool, instead of switching off when you release the pedal, it does about a 1/3 second crossfade from the Wah effect to the bypassed, resulting in a smoother transition out of the effect. The switching off never really bothered my on my 105Q, but this slick little crossfade is sweet.

Highly recommended.
