Poems without Explanations.

This
could have been
a sentence
had
I punctuated it
correctly
and not
hit
return
so often
English.
How does it work?
But it turned out to be a Modernist inquiry into the existential vagaries of linguistic semantics. Or, in Baudrillardian terms, an exploration of the disconnect between reality and hyperreality in Postmodern discourse.

Am I more than my thoughts and dreams?
Actions matter too, it seems.
Would I be happier with the answer?
Or would it eat at me like a cancer.

Living present, in the moment, at one
being eternally open to what comes

Has sufficed for me, been good advice to me

But just lately, as I've aged
And my health has turned a page

I find the questions of my youth whispering quietly

I'm not looking for praise
Or absolution from all of my yesterdays

It's just introspection, self reflection

I am the artist of my life
Held the brush, sometimes too tight
Painted over what wasn't right
Or was I hiding it from sight?

In the end, I am I
No more, no less
I could lie
And say I did my best

What's the point?

I am I

You're my and-a
Cuter than a panda
I'm-a gonna land ya
Wave my magic wand
Like your ta ta
Wanna have a ti ti?
Get you on the floor for
Two-e and a three four
Countin' out the intro
Boppin' to the rhyth-mo
Everybody get so
low
low
low
low
LOOK at the time!
I gotta go
