Poetry

I wrote this one a few years ago. My crowning achievement of 11th grade chem lab:

Life unheard
She's there
Wading through the sparkless mass
They're islands
In a life lost
To the machine reality
They meet
Are turned to change
The personal cannot share
Compete for the machine
What does the mass pursue?
A tradition comforts them
They yearn for a fate
Misuse their gifts
Unaware of her
Does she give them aid
or fight for her own?
Alone, seeking the one
To make her complete.

not really meant as poetry. I wanted to eventually make this into lyrics but I'll put this here since it really isn't traditional lyrics.

Now the trees have long since
striped themselves of their leaves.
Our skin has lost what
little pigment it had.
The sky has turned like death
but refuses to fall.
Lets forget everything
and why were against it.
Lets make the past into
what it never had been,
and wait to feel that warmth
from the sun and our hope again.
With an ever shortening
list of possibilities,
with age and change coming,
I'm glad you're back again.
The miles used to grow between us,
while your hugs kept us close.
Now thats it's coming for us,
growing old wont be so bad.

(rough draft, be gentle :) )

I look

In the mirror
I see the same as everyone else

I also see
Scars that heal
But are never better

I could have stopped them
But the pleasure beat the pain
I should have listened
I was having too much fun

Now I'm marked
I can't admit
That I'm scared to be around people

Crushed every time they look at me
What if they can see me?

What if they see?

As musicians don't we all write poetry in one form or another?

A Darkened room,
grants me life,
solitude my consummated bride,
loneliness my illegitimate child,
sorrow my faithful friend.

The Shadows are,
composed courtesans,
beautiful and silent,
as they wantonly dance,
to a sinister waltz,
of my own design.

I have lost something deep inside,
black and cold,
my heart and,
my soul.

I want to run,
but to where? and how far?

My face,
a black mask,
a lie,
my eyes always seem to give me away.

Living Nightmares,
from the moment we were born,
they have haunted me.

Can't feel,
don't want to try.

So I sit quietly,
and keep to myself,
until the sun rises slowly.

Suffer to sleep,
under heavy sheets.

Acrostic poem I wrote about my friend and I, she plays bass. =) I have others if you want.
Under Pressure

More bass please,
Eleven is where I would be at ease
Always in tune,
Gone since June
Afraid to lose you,
Never anything to do

I won’t forget,
Since there’s regret

Tormented by your groove,
Hurry let’s move
Everywhere and anywhere

Believe in love,
Eternity will not shove
Soaked in belief,
There is no relief
Engage in emotion
Since life is not in slow motion,
Tell me

It's arguably better than flaccid. :hmm:

Drunk chicks can't tell the difference. I can see her thought process going something like this.

[thoughts in a drunk chick's head]
la la la la la dee dah la la la la
la la la la la dee dah la la la la
did he just say he was flaccid?
la la la la la dee dah did my cell phone just ring?
[/thoughts in a drunk chick's head]

here's one of my best (imo) originals.

its like trying to breathe, underwater
with a plastic bag wrapped around my face
and a bomb buried deep withing my lungs
can you feel the explosion

of me dispersing through the air
shreds of me going every which way
each piece reflecting on a different day
towards an eventual black oblivion

life forms caught up in the here and now
letting go of what's dear and grabbing onto what's near
lifted off the ground, shot up to the sky
with enough time to hear an angel cry

set apart from what's real on this alien world
like the flesh eating wound of heartbreak
and the desolate horizon of fear
not forgetting the desert of ice and sorrow

where bowed hands are shifted 90 degrees
is the answer in the sky
will every detail about life
be exposed after we die

or is it all a dream
just a concotion of the mind
is there one for our praises to be sung
or is there just a ticking time bomb in our lungs

Well i was really bored last night and when i can't get to sleep late at night i just on the computer and write (or type) some poetry.... heres one i like that i made last night...

When life always spin you in circles
You never really get to see
Anything that’s going on
And it’s hard to let things be

Your just have to sit there
And wait for answers to come
And as you try to fall asleep
Your mind plays a mental drum

You stay awake for way to long
Trying to think through
And when your final thought crosses your mind
You’re hoping it will all work out for you

But when you’ve waited way to long
And have only three more days to go
Your Highest High will soon
Sink you to your lowest low

Wishing you made better choices
Earlier in the game
You know theirs little you can do
And you only have yourself to blame

And though three days is a little time
It can also be quite a lot
And hopefully this message will get to you
And you will tell them your thought
