Anything by J Jamerson and L Graham. Wow I love to play heavy hard stuff but the work from mo-town and some of those 70's guys are just so creative and melodic that the lines can't be ignored.

Peg by Steely Dan is a great bass line. Some of that disco stuff is unreal Juaquine Dupree etc... holy crap where did these guys get that stuff...?????

I don't know who's playing it or if Bill wrote the bassline, but it's a masterclass in 'just right' bass playing, it's perfect - not too much and not too little and totally moves the song along.
