Starting a new band. Seniors group called "The Last Leg". Catchy huh!?
Don't mind me..I can be a sickO sometimes!

:)

Sorry, not one upping or anything, and I do like the name, the group I played with, I was the youngest. The name of the group was The Bucket List. We had to change as there was one out there already.

I jam with a group of guys. One had stage 4 cancer, another scleroderma, yet another had had a silent heart attack. I wanted to call us Dead Men Walking. There weren't any takers. The guy with stage 4 cancer has passed on.
If you’re in NY we could resurrect. I think I may have a few years left before I kick..

Then, he died.
He died of Lemmy cancer. One day after diagnosis, no hanging around.

I would have posted the video link but the mods don't like the language.
But check this out (as long as you're over 18, and can take the occasional cussword)... just delete the spaces https : // youtu.be / OcBgcZM41Vw

If you're concerned about joining a gigging band too soon or just not sure when you should join one, I'd suggest trying a basement jam session or two before deciding to find a gigging band. I'm 55 and played in three different jams (2 weekly, one "whenever we are all available") for a few years before joining my first gigging band this past summer. But, since you're already an experienced musician, I'm sure you wouldn't need nearly that much time.

I found them to be a great low-pressure learning experience and they gave me a great way to decide when I was ready to make the jump to playing out live. And I'm still playing with two of them simply for the fun of having more playing opportunities.
