Hi Community Friends,

I am in search for a distortion/fuzz type pedal. I have already gotten a Vulcan bass overdrive and would like to add a heavier distortion/fuzz pedal to my board. The purpose of the distortion/fuzz is mainly to create synth bass sound with my oc-5 and envelope filter or use it for solo with the octave up oc-5 tone.

I watched videos on Youtube and demo from JAM website but have trouble deciding which one to buy. Think will be nice to ask around in the community for some suggestions.

Thank you all in advance for any good suggestion or use experience.

Agree with above. Fuzz (Red Muck) and OD. Not sure What’s different between the guitar and bass Red Muck. But I love Rat types but for stacking I like fuzz better.

Edit. Lots of Rat types have poor bass response. Not all but many.

Thanks for your reply! I read an article on JAM website it seems that the bass red muck was optimized(tuned) specifically for bass frequency sweet spots so does the bass Rattler. And the knobs are different comparing to guitar Red Muck Mk2.

What about that bass? - JAM pedals

Cool. My limited experience with Jam is all great. I forgot they made a bass Rattler. I still like OD+OD or OD+fuzz but now you’ve got me thinking I’ll try one of my favorite bass-friendly Rats
with a couple drives tomorrow.
