RUSH, but I do also love the LZ. JPJ is a great, great bass player, among all the other instruments he plays.

Where's the poll choice for people who love both equally, but for different reasons?
I always considered Rush to be a combination of the worst excesses of Led Zeppelin and Yes, so even though I was dissapointed in III and Houses Of The Holy, and had no use Presence or In Through The Out Door, I gotta go with the Mothership. Yeah, yeah, I went there, so bring it on…
LZ never did much for me. I’m not a huge Rush fan either, but I do like a number of their songs and have a lot of respect for their abilities.

Ahhh, to be a teenager again. I used to love these totally pointless debates. Ours was typically "who started metal, Zep or Sabbath?"
Anyways, the answer to today's question is Led Zeppelin. You ever seen the chicks at a Rush show? If they're present, they're with their man.

Nah, not clear at all.
Zep comes first and inspires the whole cockrock/powermetal movement which encapsulated the 80s. Black Sabbath was the first to popularize "dark" music.
I didn't appreciate Rush until recently. So, Led Zeppelin has a 40 year head start. But I fundamentally reject the premise - Rush vs Led Zeppelin is like steak versus lobster. The world is better with both of them in it.
The question is woefully incomplete without Deep Purple in it.
Both are great bands but I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin. Their first album was one of my first record purchases, so they win.
Zeppelin, because I never got any girl action listening to Rush but plenty with zeppelin on the turntable
I'm a Ged-Head, but I also appreciate JPJ quite a bit. Depending on my mood I might favor one over the other but today I'm feeling inclined towards Rush. Ask again next week and I might change my mind.
