Poll: Led Zeppelin vs. Rush?

Use the scientific method. Go play some Rush covers at a bar gig and see how fast there are only a handful of impressed middle age dudes left at the bar cuz every chick went to go see a DJ. As a control, play some led zepplin at the next bar gig and see how fast there are only a handful of middle age dudes left because all the chicks went to go see a DJ, except one past her prime alcoholic lady who is into one of those dudes cuz of his motorcycle. Perform a regression analysis to see if the results are statistically significant. SCIENCE!
I'm 58 now and I admit that I was a huge Led Zeppelin fan at age 11-13 Owning all of their then released records up to "Presence". Didn't care much about them after being 13.
Although people call me Prof. Music, I've never met anyone in my life, who owns a Rush record or has ever mentioned the band's name in my present. If I wouldn't play bass, I wouldn't even know their name or who Geddy Lee is.
Never listened to Rush longer than a minute, I admit. Is this a canadian men only thing? At least they must be something really special.

Neither for me. I’ll take The Who. At their peak they were as heavy as Zeppelin and as female-repellent as Rush.

I'm all for science, but do you really base your preferences on how people in bars behave? And I'm wondering if there is any science behind your observation that only alcoholic in the bar is the woman?
I dig rush. One of the first albums I owned was 2112. I appreciate technical/prog rock bands, but Zep is ultimately the way I roll. So many genres of music performed by them. All I have to do is listen to "The Lemon Song" and I'm groovin' "til the break of dawn!
III and Houses of the Holy are my favorite Zep albums and I voted RUSH!!

You misunderstand, the only woman in the bar is an alcoholic. Feel free to alienate a larger audience if you need a larger sample size.

As for today's question, Rush no doubt. Never got into LZ, and although I know and recognize some of their songs, I also have no problem changing the station during any of them. They just never did anything for me, and I've never gotten the hype. Rush, on the other hand, I will purposely keep listening to when I have a moment, and am torn when I have to leave if I don't have a moment.
We don't do Vs. threads in the Bassists forum, I'm liking that precedent here as well.
