I started the sentence by using the words "To me". So to me, Rush has a better bass player. Others may disagree, which is totally fine.

Poll: Led Zeppelin vs. Rush?

I started the sentence by using the words "To me". So to me, Rush has a better bass player. Others may disagree, which is totally fine.
I like Rush, but not too much but do not like Led Zeppelin really at all anymore. My controversial opinion will annoy many and I know it's nothing new in the world of music but to rip off and borrow musically bodly and not give credit where it's due at the time, I am not a fan of Led Zeppelin( I know it's how music is form and made to borrow music, the Doors admitted to doing it but they publicly said it and shared their inspirations I just do not like how LZ did it.) To take them from blues artist who didn't make a dime from their music to me is very wrong and to not admit it till the end annoys me. To at least not give them a little bit more love like some respect and dedication but to just "admit it" to me isn't enough. But I understand that with their fame, people will target anything and I also think JPJ is an amazing bassist who gives credit where it's due, and Bonham is a jazz influence drummer who also gave respect to those before him. Both are beast of musicians. Other than that I prefer "You Need Love" by Muddy Waters anyday over Whole Lotta Love

Seriously, I like "Limelight" alright but tried listening to 2112 and it was such a slog. The guys in the band all seem like decent folks with a good sense of humor and are clearly talented musicians. But...I just can't do it.

Also LZ were rockstars and had lyrics like a whole lotta love while Neil Peart wrote about the philosophy of Ayn Rand.

I like LZ more for the bluesy quality to their music, and Rush more for their modern industrial aesthetic. There is a lot of music from each of their catalogues that I can’t stand listening to any more.
Houses of the holy and Moving pictures are my favorite album from each of them. If we are talking about bands an not just bass players, wouldn’t Aerosmith be a better comparison to Led Zeppelin than Rush?

Led Zeppelin, because I spent the entire summer of 82 hanging with my boys listening to every song on every album all day every day.

Synth and Keyboard Rush is my favorite era of Rush, everything after Hold Your Fire I have no interest in. I don't mind the stuff pre-Moving Pictures but it's rare that I listen to it.
Ain't nothing like death to slow down ones momentum.
If I go back to the Rush albums that I've enjoyed and some of them I have not enjoyed that much or at all but, if I go back through the ones I enjoyed there might be a song or two on several albums that I really like.
LZ was different for me, the time, the age I was, the fact that I could see them in concert after their fourth album came out and they kicked total arse the entire concert really sort of molded my views on Led Zeppelin and they're not all favorable but they have a lot more songs that I enjoy.
It's not a fair question at all they're both hot shirt and they're both totally different so a decision on which group was better... really weighs heavily on a quote from Napoleon Bonaparte...
To really understand a person you must know what was going on in the world when that person was 20, and the question to myself us; did I like Led Zeppelin better because I was younger than 20 or did I like Rush better because I might have understood a little bit more about where they were coming from at 20? I don't have an answer for it but I think if I had both sets of releases to listen to on a rainy day I would probably listen to both sets of release... pull the Bass out and play along!
