I use GHS Precision flats on one of my P-basses, my favorite flat wound string.
Otherwise DR LoRiders are my choice of strings, but they were not an option...
Perfect strings? Ain't happening. Not till flounds get invented.
As controversies go, it's pretty much agreed upon that nobody can agree on strings anymore. I hate strings that many people love and love strings that many people hate. So you don't see as many fights to the death over strings as you used to.Ok, I know many of you are suggesting many other strings that aren’t included in the poll
That is fine! If that’s what YOU think is the perfect string for a p bass, than it’s perfectly valid.
It was my fault really, because I was going to include “other - please specify” as an option in the poll, but I pressed the post button too quickly. When I realised that I forgot to add it in, it was already too late to go back and edit the options.
Sorry again.
The reason strings like TI flats and La Bella’s were not included is because I personally have never heard them referred to being the perfect match for a p bass. Sure, I’ve heard about these strings before and know that many like them, but I never really made that connection. All the strings I’ve listed in the poll are strings that I’ve heard people say (many times before) that they are the perfect match for a p bass. That’s really all their is to it.
Sorry if I offended anyone.
But hey, I knew this thread would be a little controversial in some way.
