My instrument in school days (grades 5-10) was tenor sax. But I haven't played it since and probably couldn't, so I didn't include that.

I took a couple of bouts of piano lessons as a kid and can still find my way around a keyboard, though at a pretty elementary level. In a past band (Six Cowards) I incorporated some keyboard playing so I did list that even though I'm barely proficient.

After I took up bass, I wanted to learn some guitar too, so I started borrowing my wife's acoustic and teaching myself on it. Eventually I got my own, and a couple of electrics. I've played the acoustic in public (church), would say I'm maybe an intermediate player. Never played electric in public.

I also banged away at mandolin for years before taking up bass. That's kind of a campfire instrument for me and it's been a while since I touched it.

I do sing a bit, did school choir and was in the chorus for a couple of musicals in school. In Six Cowards I sang lead about 2/3 of the time and in Mugshot Monday I do lots of backups and sing lead maybe 1-2 songs per set.

This year is my 50th anniversary of the first time I played in a bar, mostly guitar, with some bass early on, and a LOT of bass in recent years.

In that time I've been in vans, busses, medium/large venues and a handful of 10,000 crowd shows.

I've even done the decent-pay, event band thing for a couple decades.

I'm still grateful to shamelessly play in bars, either guitar or bass.

I'm even grateful to play songs that a lot of people show disdain for - guitar gig about a year and a half ago; Yes, THAT song:
