I used one until about 8 or so years ago. It is great pick up, especially with modern amps. Not too reliable and grounding can be an issue.

On behalf of all Americans, I sincerely apologize for the many crappy TV shows that were sent to you in the Great White North in the 60's and 70's, esp. "Green Acres".
Mr. Haney (above) most certainly was selling the Polytone Bass Pickup along with snake oil and god knows what else.
Also,too - Thank You for your excellent Canadian Beer(s) - esp. Molson Golden and LaBatt's Blue, which I consumed in large amounts beginning as a wee child in Buffalo, NY, just a snowball's throw from your fine country.
