Polytune 3 pedal users please help.

Just picked up a used Polytune 3 off Ebay. Pedal looks great and clean. Added a new battery and when I try to tune the screen displays 4 little red squares at the bottom of the screen like a strobe and makes a clicking sound.

I’ve set the little switches inside the pedal to all the different positions and tried different cables and still the same issue. Is this normal?

Are you getting audio when you bypass the unit? I have several of these pedals - some v2, some v3, some mini... haven't seen this particular visual. The only time I had a problem it was an issue with the bass, took me a minute to try bypassing the tuner and then realized the output from the bass was garbled. If your bass output is good, IME it's hard to get the tuner to mis-behave so I would suspect a defect with the pedal...

The little four red lights at the bottom is what my polytune 3 looks like when it is engaged (stomp compressed), and no sound is inputted. I dont hear any clicking noise from this pedal. when I pluck a note then the strobe comes up. Sounds like the pedal isn't getting any input for some reason to me.

Thanks for all the help, the seller accepted a return. It was a dud. Think I’m gonna try a Boss TU-3 instead.

I would get another Polytune.

Yeah don't give up on Polytunes. I've been using them for years (The original big one, the first gen mini noir and now Polytune 3 mini noir). Never had an issue. I'm sure it was just a dud.
