This is disappointing.
Ads at the top and bottom of the page and now in the threads too.
I'd go to other forums and see that, then be thankful I could come back to TB and not worry about those. Well, not anymore.
Sure, it could be worse, but it's still lame.

I can deal with it, but it really sucks. Ads at the top and bottom are fine. No problem at all. But when a post is an ad, it's interrupting the flow of conversation. It's like a group of people are talking and then someone walks up and starts to tell us about a 20% off upholstery event. But I can pay to not have that happen if I want, I suppose.

Well, keep in mind that @paul is paying a registrar, a server farm and within the last year or so greatly increased the storage available to us so the posts don’t have to suffer from broken links anymore.

This site is for us, and I have no doubt it is a labor of love, but it is also @paul’s livelihood.

For my part, I am happy to pay the subscription; I feel the expense is warranted for me based upon the site’s entertainment value, I prefer to view ad-free and I recognize that @paul has a wife and at least one little one that need to be housed, fed and clothed.

I readily admit that the latest advertising additions pushed me from blue to gold.

Really appreciate the support. . Seriously, it’s all about visibility scores as linked in the OP. Wish we didn’t have to but interweb users are getting more sophisticated.

Just to be clear, supporting members get no ads or pop-ups? I was going to renew anyway, but am curious if these things will disappear when I do. Thx

Supporting members get a leaderboard banner, one at the top, one at the bottom. Gold supporting members see zero ads ever.
