Pops seems favored and I bought a cake about a year ago -kept right but it doesn't feel the same anymore.

Is there a shelf life for this stuff?

Newby to arco after 35+ yrs of jazz pizz - I know nothing

Order a fresh cake from bassrosin.com and keep it (still in the red container) in a sealed ziplock bag with a drip or two of water. I had a cake of Pops that kept fresh (i.e. still see through and easily maleable, non powdery) for a good 2 1/2 months using this method. Also, use that fresh Pops very sparingly because fresh Pops is pretty grippy. And yes, could also help to get a rehair.

Until your new cake of rosin comes in, you can always try to "refurb" the old cake with 10 seconds in a microwave. Not a second more, or you'll have a big mess, and watch it in case you have a high-powered microwave that may get the job done with a second or two less. Not the best solution, but it will get you by until the new cake arrives.
