Porcupine Tree

Let me just say - I've seen them live 3 times over the last 6 years, and I've been completely blown away. Steven Wilson's growing mastery of the guitar, his voice, and production is just taking him to the top level of the craft of music. Gavin Harrison has been making huge waves in the drumming world, as evidenced by his drum solo on Letterman a few months ago. I've gotten really into Barbieri's solo records, and although I'm not as into Colin Edwin's stuff as much I gotta say that he is a very tasty bassist who plays all the right notes every time, with superb intonation on fretless.

With that said, I was a bit let down by the most recent PT album, as well as the new SW solo album. But they'll rise again to fight another day, I know this for sure.

Colin's a really nice guy. Great musician.
Totally dig his work.

Porcupine Tree "What Are You Listening To?" and "Synesthesia" will be played from vinyl tonight on KRVM.org at a little after 5PM PST. I recorded it myself from vinyl and normalized it above the station's standard level. :) Hey I'm old and I got confused. Actually the entire first 20 min segment is extra loud. Unless they fixed it. Ha.

Listen - KRVM.org

Highway Star - Deep Purple

Porcupine Tree - WAYLT? and most of Synesthesia

Tasavallan Presidentti - Milky Way Moses
