Double (roughly) the rating of the caps, is my understanding.

So if your caps are only rated for 16v stick to running the pedal on 9v; 12v maybe, but at 15v magic smoke may release.

Upgrade the caps with 36v replacements and you’re good for 18v operation IF all other components can handle the extra juice, such as ICs, transistors, etc.

No argument -- just excuses!

1. Never modded a pedal in my life -- why start now?
2. Where do I find the mod parts?
3. I solder something once every 10-years.
4. I really don't have the time.

Another shortcut,

Just buy a Pork & Pickle smalls, and run it at 18V.
Totally safe to do so, as confirmed by @johnk_10 in another thread.

The extra voltage/headroom really opens it up.

it was just a thought. There are a number of us on here that were able to do the one part mod in 5 min. All you need is the part, soldering iron and a screwdriver.

But you may be waiting a while for one to pop up. Could get lucky though. I ended up replacing my modded PL for a Damnation MBD1. Been hella happy with it ever since.

No problem. I am currently not using it, but I also quite like knowing it’s there if I need it. So I am good to go on keeping it safe at home!
