Portable bass amp

Hi all! Im looking for a lightweight and portable amp for my bass ( mustang fender)and need recommendations. My current amp ( ampeg) is out for repair for at least another 3 weeks and i need another amp asap. I just can't deal playing my bass without an amp.

Welcome to Talkbass! Thanks for posting.

Portable, meaning battery powered? Or portable as in easy to move like the $99 Fender Rumble 25 or the $199 Fender Rumble 40 which will be good for practicing.

Or do you need a rehearsal amp like the Fender Rumble 100 or 200?

What's your budget and how loud do you need it to be?
Without knowing those things you aren't going to get useful advice.

Brace yourself, Alexa, for a million suggestions and most will be solid too. So besides the Rumble 25, which is a good one, I'll throw out the Ampeg BA108 v2 combo. The same price as the Rumble, but includes a monitor-shaped cabinet so you can lay it down and point the thing right at ya during practice. Very nice. My fave feature though is the Aux In volume control on the panel. Let's say you use your phone to play along with. Set your phone's volume and then adjust the loudness going into your headphones with the 'Peg's volume knob. More flexibility that way. Most importantly, it sounds like an Ampeg! Order it this weekend and you'll probably;ly have it by Tuesday or run down to your local GC because there's most likely one on the floor waiting for ya to try it.

Now when ya buy a combo, no matter what it is, stop on over to the Combo Club with an image of your new rig and I'll give you a membership number for free! We're a cool bunch who love our combos.

You haven’t mentioned what you’ll be using the amp for, but for something lightweight and portable that’ll sound great with your Mustang, look no further than the Fender Rumble series. For a practice amp, the Rumble 40 or 25 combos will fit the bill. For gigging, the Rumble 200 or 500 work great. If you want something that can sound like your Ampeg, the Rumble LT25, Studio 40 or Stage 800 is what you need.

Awesome thanks. I ordered the fender rumble 25. Getting it tomorrow. A week without an amp was torture.

Not all amps portable but il you live near la you can use one for a week or two until you can get yours repaired.
