Portable power amps?

I can't find anything portable.

Here are a few ideas to explore.

Thanks. I reached out Jay earlier today! Very responsive on Facebook. I just wish it had more than 500W and that's what's been holding me off. GSS Sumo and Sumo max are appealing to me, but they don't have US distribution. Simone too expensive and same thing as the Straight Ahead--I keep thinking I want more power lol even if I don't plan on getting that loud

There are TB members in the US who have purchased Baby Sumos fairly recently.

The notes in the Description section of the Baby Sumo webpage say:

No idea if this applies to the 1000 and 1200...The Description page is not really filled out for these models. AFAIK GSS is responsive to questions.

500W is a lot of power in my experience. If I bought a new class D head it would be one of the 800W models, but the truth is my last touring rig only had 260W and it was plenty with an efficient 210.

More power tends to mean bigger and more expensive. Class D heads are pretty competitive so the difference between 500W and 800W may be on the order of $100-$200. Unfortunately compact power amps are not very common or competitive, so good luck finding an option that better meets your needs.

The Sumo Monster has the same language about US delivery but it is located on the Settings tab instead of the Description tab.

Probably. Two would be unmanageable on a pedalboard.

Personally I can not understand why people who want just a small power-amplifier always disregard the ones that come with an inbuilt pre-amplifier.
All amps are basically a pre-amp and a power-amp if they have a send and return on them, if you plug into the return jack you are only using the power-amp.
Just accept the fact that they are throwing in the pre-amp as a free gift on your new power-amp.
Heck, you might even get to like that inbuilt gift as well even if you didn't buy the power amp for the free pre-amp they threw in with the deal.
