Is it possible a Cort Curbow 4 strings made in 1981? Serial number is 8103576. If you know the date that Curbow Model was created, it would be awesome

6. Can I identify a Cort model just by the serial number alone?
You cannot identify a particular Cort model just by the serial number alone. Serial numbers mainly identify the year that the instrument was produced in. For instance, if a serial number starts with 00, that guitar was produced in 2000. Guitars being produced in 2006 start with 06 and so on.

well, i'm wondering if it's possible because i bought one from ebay and i never saw an old curbow.. i am thinking that curbow series didn't existed in 81 so.. wondering if someone in this website know if it's possible...
No. They didn't come out until 99. I got one for Christmas the year they came out. I was a junior in high school, that's why I remember it so vividly.
Did they produce them under the Cort name though? They may just not have been sold in Australia.
I don't know, i send an email to cort asking them when Curbow series came out and when my curbow was made with the serial number.
possible but i don't know... it's wrote on cort website that the first 2 numbers is the year...
no, it's not an 1981.. if you're really interested in it, email Cort and give them clear pics of the bass and the serial number..

The Cort Curbow models were first produced in 1999, maybe 1998 at the very earliest (doubtful though).

I´m sure that first 0 is just missing. Mine has eight digits SNr, so I would imagine yours is suppossed to be 0 8103576. So you´ve got 2008 model. Problem solved. Your photo is too small, but I see that you have no gap between "serial number" and "8103576". So it is looks like a typo, not just scratchoff.
i remember trying those out back when tanglewood was doing the curbow licences. that was backin 97-98-ish.
great basses though light and great tone, i loved the brushed aluminium look hardware too
hope you can find out what year you have, but its definatly less than 10 years old
