Possible issue...

Just noticed that the E string is at the point of starting to wind around the post. Wondering if this will present issues. I’m a stickler for getting at least 3 winds (at least on the E and A). Hope I didn’t cut the E too long. Thoughts?

Indeed, the point at which you cut the string has no effect on whether the full gauge reaches the post, that's determined by the winding length of the string and the dimensions of your bass.
No problem here as you have fat fender style tuner posts that don't sharply bend a string.

I was just reading about things like this on another post and was cautioned that it was potentially damaging to Flats. Based on these posts, looks like that is okay on any string.

Certain brands of flats are more prone to breakage when the main body rides on the tuner post. La Bella, for example, warns explicitly against it.

GHS Precision Flats by design are a little more pliable than some other flats, causing no issues when the main body wraps around the post.

I have string through holes on my basses for the E string (takes up an extra inch of string so this doesn’t happen), but it does seem a lot of folks don’t have any issues with that.
