Possibly dumb preamp question

Hi guys.

I have an ESP bass with an Aguilar OBP-3 installed and the exact same bass but in fretless with the original preamp on it. I want to swap the preamps.
I'm thinking it's as simple as clipping the pickup wires, swapping them and re-soldering the pick up wires.
Am I right or is there something else I'm missing?

Thanks!

well, all inputs and outputs, so include the jack and grounding wires (don't forget the bridge ground), that's basically it, assume the wiring configurations are identical - do the two preamps have similar controls? Are you planning on swapping the pots and switches along with the preamps?

If the control configuration between the two preamps is the same then yes, all you have to do is disconnect the pickup leads, and grounds and swap the controls and reconnect the leads.
