Possibly the dumbest question I've ever asked

I never buy pre-made cables. I have a roll of 2 conductor 12g stranded cable and a bunch of connectors. It's MUCH cheaper this way. If my Monster Cable instrument cables ever give out, I'll buy some shielded instrument cable and do the same. However, it's been almost 5 years of constant abuse and those things haven't given out yet. :)

$13 for two connectors? Who the heck is ripping you off? They can be had for $4.50 each, cheaper if you have a hookup at a store.

And go ahead and choppychoppy your cable. I purposely bought a too-long 6ft cable even though I only really need 3ft to reach either of my cabinets. My first Speakon cable was 16ga. and the new on I bought was 14ga. Since he was giving me a good price, I went for the longer cable, knowing I'd strip the plugs off my first cable and get heavier-gauge cables for both my cabs.

It's 2nd-grade simple to cut, trim back, and screw together Speakon plugs. You'll have no problem.

Amos to cut that cable in half is pointless. You will need two connectors any way so why not just buy a 3-4' length af cable from Home Despot and make a second cable? Additional cost about $5. That way you have two cables one slightly longer than the other for when you need a bit of extra length. We have ALL needed that from time to time. ;)

I am aware speakons are solderless. My post above said "this whole thread was pointless because the cab I got does NOT have speakons, meaning it has 1/4". I do not have a soldering iron refers to the fact that I need one to soldier the 1/4" end of a 1/4 to speakon cable.

Once more Murphy's law strikes! if you did have a soldering iron the cabinet would have had Speakons!
