Your bass sisters, that is. Have you got two basses that perfectly go together and complement each other? I'm thinking like 4 and 5 string versions of the same bass, or fretted and fretless - two basses that definitely make a perfect pair.

I'll start. Many of you will already know these two, I think. They are both Warmoth bodies with Status graphite necks. The fretted one on the left is an alder Dinky J with a quilt maple top. It has Nordstrand NJ4SE pickups, a J-Retro pre, Badass II bridge and Schaller machines (with a Hipshot D-Tuner). Currently it's strung with DR Hi-Beam roundwounds.

The lined fretless on the right is a conventional Jazz body in swamp ash with a quilt top. The pickups are active EMG Js with no additional pre-amp (I just love the clarity of these pickups on a fretless). This one also has a Badass II bridge and Schaller machines. No D-Tuner yet, but it may acquire one in the future. I use Rotosound Solo Bass pressure wounds on this one, which are great strings for a fretless bass.

Oh man... I had a perfect fretless match to my 1976 Precision -- same year, same finish, same everything. I sold it after it sat under the bed for years. No pics of them together, for some reason.

@boblophonc - shame about that. Maybe you'll get another to replace it one day. I just LOVE fretless Precisions and have done ever since I first heard Percy Jones playing one on "Livestock" by Brand X. You don't see that many of them around, it's a pity really.

Alvaro - that's what I'm talking about! Great pair of Bongos.

And that Montezuma brown 4003 is gorgeous. Not so sure about the 3001 though, I never really got into the shape of those.
