I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ll likely never find a better deal.

Got this Fender Modern Player Jaguar for 40$ - not a scratch and still had spotless factory strings on it.
Unfortunately I just couldn’t get comfortable with it, so away it went.

The one I’m really excited about cost twice as much, 80$ (haha!), but I’ve been GASsing for one ever since I saw one online, and couldn’t believe when one popped up on a local site. Westbury Track IV from ‘80, built in the Matsumoko factory. It was kind of a mess, so I’ve really cleaned it up, now it just needs a couple repairs - bridge replaced, tuner fixed - but the sound is HUGE from the double P pickup arrangement. It also conforms to the logic of the day that heavy was better. Def the heaviest bass I’ve owned (12, 13 lbs maybe?), so probably will mostly be a studio bass, but I can’t wait to get her fixed up and put it to work! Such a cool bass!

Goodwill Peavey Milestone. $40 LOVE this bass. The neck is super slim, like an Ibanez. I put some Benson pickups in it, @ $70 off of fleabay. They are super clean and articulate. Painted the pickguard OSHA yellow. This is my always Backup bass. On stage ready to go and always used for that late last set when I want a 7lb bass on my shoulder.
PS, check out the purple oddball bass I built with a body from TB classifieds. Bartolini MM and Dimarzio P. ;)

1968 Jazz in Dakota Red that I picked up for $99 in the early 90s from some friends who worked at a music store in Maryland. They told me it had a broken truss rod. I slapped a cheap ESP neck on it and played it that way for a bunch of years and then took it to Mike Lull, who found out that the truss rod was fine but the neck had a big ski jump that needed fixing, which he did. Mike told me that in 68 Fender was experimenting with pickups and some were good and others not. He said that these are some of the very good ones.

I dobut that I’ll ever find a deal to match this one!

Just picked this up. A 2003 mint condition Squier Standard Precision. It's a PJ the color is black sparkle. The only thing I did was added the red pearloid pickguard, black knobs and switched the P pup out for a Dimarzio I had. It didn't need any upgrades. But, for a stock bass it is on par with a lot of MIMs I've owned. The upgrades just made it that much better.
