I posted this for another thread but it does have DR Black Beauties.

I'd try some black beauties (they'd look great on my black basses I think), IF they'd do a .40-100 set. They only come in 45-105 though.

You could always try some Black Diamonds. The have a 40-60-80-100 set at Bassguitarstrings.us. BTW, I like the Black Diamonds over the DR's.

Yes! I bought mine used off the Pitt for a little under $300 and I consider it a steal. Mine is a TR600 that was only in production for one year in '97. I'm really a passive bass kind of guy, I play a stock Fender Jazz w/ flats as my main bass, but I really like the preamp on this bass. It goes everywhere with me as my backup bass and on occasion I play it for a whole gig. Overall it's my second favorite bass I own with my jazz being first. I highly recommend them.

MrDuncan, it really depends on how much you play the bass and if you play with a pick or fingerstyle. Personally on my bass I posted above it took probably two weeks or so for it to start showing wear, but I played it at rehearsal and one gig and in that band I play with a pick about 75% or the time. For some reason the A string seems to be the only one really showing wear, if you'll look at my pic above, it's wearing in between the pickups where I play and from the 3rd fret to the 7th fret on the A string. All of the other strings show almost no wear at all, either I play on the A string a lot more than I thought or I just got a bad string.

haha.. yeah, well the photo is taken when i took photos of the bass with every pickguard i own.. i didn't want to screw every screw in every pickguard between the shots so i just left it unscrewed..
