You see those on ebay every now and then. I thought it was more like a chorus.. I know that boss also made the "Dimension C" which I believe was a chorus... and no I dont want to get into that chorus is/isnt like a flanger debate again :)

Yep... DC-3 Digital Dimension. It's a chorus pedal but I can get a sort of synth-like sound out of it when I run it into the Phaser (so much for being a Flanger). Run that signal through 3 gain stages and into a delay and you get a pretty huge sound :ninja:

hello

after selling mi GT 6-B multi effect, I'm now setting up a nice board with single pedals. I also have a Boss ODB-3, which isn't on the pic and I have ordered a Boss CEB-3 and a programmable Sansamp BDDI.
Unfortunately also no pedalboard on this foto, just the pedals, but I have one. (in rehearsal room at the time)

Brief History:
I have never used a pedal board. I have used stompboxes, but never a pedal board.

My brother in law (a guitar/synth player in Boston) frequently sends me his hand-me-downs. Recently I have been the fortunate recipient of A Lexicon R1 Midi pedal board.

I own a kidney-bean Bass POD.

I would love to control the POD with the Lexicon. Is that do-able?

Can anyone offer a simple 'how-to' to get me started?

I have my midi cable and I am assuming I would be attaching the out of the Lexicon to the in on the POD - but as for setting up banks, patches, all that... I am totally new to it...

Any tips would be much appreciated!

from what i can tell (and i've never used a midi footswitch with a pod... so i'm kinda guessing here), you'd plug the lexicon into the midi in. you know how the pod works on a bank/letter preset system (ie bank 3B)... well, switching to different banks is as easy as stomping the "bank" selectors on the lexicon. you can then pick your A, B, C, or D using 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively. you'd also be able to turn you amp, stomp, mod, and delay on or off using 6, 7, 8, and 9 respectively. number 5 would be "tap tempo/hold for tuner." i don't know what number 10 would do. the expression pedal would be a volume/wah.

this is what i'm guessing, mind... i may be WAAAAYYYYY off. visit http://www.line6.com for more info. they're quite helpful, in my experience.

Thanks a bunch, man! I have never really wanted to use effects or a pedal board or even my POD before. But recently I have been adding the POD to my system and I think I like it! So it occured to me that I could actually add some fun stuff like delay, reverb, chorus, phase, you get the idea... now I am on a mission.

sounds pretty good on bass! IMO it is more smooth than the Metal Zone, I originally bought it for total distortion, but it is also very useful for lightly driven sounds and also sounds a bit fuzzy.
There's plenty of low end in this pedal, more than on the Metal Zone, but less gain. I wouldn't mind if it had more gain, but with active basses you can get melting distortion and feedbacks as well!

cool pedal, and cheap on Ebay. There I found mine.

+1 on that. Very nice pedal haven't yet found a place for it in a band setting but i'm sure it'll fit somewhere.
I've got some time next week, so i'll try and get some samples up for you guys then.

I decided to finally take some pictures of my board since it's probably the biggest it'll be for a while (I'm getting rid of the 4MS Swash/fuzz, SB7, and Echoplex). They aren't hooked up as the order is ever-changing. But it goes something like this:

Gibson EDP+ (->foot controller)->
Ibanez SB7 ->
4MS Noise Swash ->
4MS Fuzz Jade (the Swash and Fuzz are both in the top left enclosure, but they have separate ins/outs) ->
TU-2 (mainly for splitting into stereo; playing in tune is for squares) ->
Lexicon Vortex (stereo) ->
Mesa Walkabout (in loop: Nord Micro Modular -> EHX 2880[-> foot controller] ->4MS Panneur (being repaired)
Crate amp (blarg!) (loop: Nord MM, 2880, 4MS Panneur, Premier 90 tube spring reverb [not on board])

I think. The board sits on top of an amp and just the foot controllers go on the ground.

I realized that I don't ever use distortion, so it's kind of silly to have such an expensive and knobby distortion, so I'm getting rid of it. The 2880 does a lot more of what I want a looper to do than the Echoplex (though the EDP has way more features overall), so the EDP is going. And I don't use filter sounds much, but the Nord will do it when I need it, so the SB7 is superfluous. I wish there was a way to rehouse the Vortex in a stompbox...
