can't compare it? I'm hoping that wasn't a dig, but more of a 'there isn't much else like it' statement :hmm:

It's a perfect OD / distortion pedal for me... it gives me the right kind of bite / crunch / grind / carrots I'm after. Words are mostly useless when it comes to tones... here are some examples:

This is recorded direct compressor, kot, nano stone, AD9

and again but a different compressor and no phaser through a little Ampeg 1x15" combo with my old band

(I kicked the Thor on over the kot for the chorus's)

same setup without a compressor out front (or the Thor behind)

No no not a dig. I just figured it was pretty unique. I hate to ask people to compare something to anything cause like you said tones are mostly subjective to the players ears.

Here's what I put together before practice today:

There are a few new things on, and few old things gone. Still only about half of it is velcro'd on (the stuff that came with velcro), as my board has been in a constant state of evolution. Early next week I'll be receiving what should be my last order of George L's, and two pedals that I've been thinking about for a long time, and finally bit the bullet on. Once they get here I'm going to finally get everything velcro'd, zip-tie'd etc. It will be nice to have everything locked in, and not have to carry my boards perfectly flat every time they leave my house, and just to have the general mess of wires (and potential for problems) cleaned up.

Thanks guys it's getting there. I just like playing bass in general, but having a big pallet (literally and figuratively:rolleyes:) of tones to choose from is such a blast when jamming. :bassist:

Tonight, some friends of mine asked if I would come to the studio with them and bring my boards and to do the knob twisting and dialing everything in for the bassist to get some sick tones-- It's at one of the nicer studios in San Diego, and they're close friends so I'd be happy to help, but I said that I would on one condition: That I be listed in the album leaf, ie:

Joe Jackson - Bass
Jermaine Jackson - Drums
Michael Jackson - Key(d)s
Janet Jackson - Guitar & Vocals
Me - Tonez

They agreed :D


Gash - I've never used a POG or micro pog so I wouldn't know for sure-- I will say that I get a lot of use out of the envelope section (attack delay, decay, etc) and the lowpass filter. I'm not sure if the POG has it or not, but it would be a deal breaker for me if it didn't, because the Lowpass filter is very important for dialing out as much squawk as possible from the +octaves.

:D I figured as much. I was on the same waiting list... it was just over 2 years for mine too.

The POG does. The Micro POG does not.

This will be my first post i this thread :)

Chain is Blowtorch - CEB3 - LS2
chA Turbo Rat (drive on 9 o`clock, for slight tube-like drive) - GEB7 (set for low and mid boost, to compensate low loss and boost mids even more) -
- DOD FX 72 - EH Echo 1 - EH Worm. All this is set in FX loop of my GK700RB :)
