I find that the Ashdown is geared well for the bottom end, and gets an excellent sounding dubby filter rolling with the band/high pass blended at 12 o'clock. But it does seem to cut out the highs significantly.

The Funk-A-Duck is a more versatile and dynamic beast. Low or High pass modes. A frequency knob that can be set to earth-shaking lows or glass-breaking highs. And the resonance knob can be cranked up so that it feedbacks onto itself. This pedal can definitely feed your GAS for a crazy pedal. I have found that i really like using the Funk-A-Duck after a digitech whammy set to 2-octaves up and then blended back in with my dry signal (via an Xotic X-Blender). It gets a funky duck "quacking" auto-wah follower thing happening doubled up on my original bass tone. Oh, and i almost always have the oscillator speed knob turned completely down.
The only thing I don't like about the Funk-A-Duck is the 16vac power supply, yet another wallwart i gotta find to plug in somewhere.

Its a cartridge that you plug into the NES like any normal game.

The cartridge has a Midi cable built into it which can be plugged into any midi device (Keyboards, Synths, Computers etc,,

and actually, putting it before the distortion would give it more of a synth sound. with this pedal anyway.. cant speak for others

autowah = controlled by oscillator and keeps wahing all night long

envelope filter = controlled by volume of the output on your bass

A "wah" is a variable bandpass filter. Whether it is "auto" depends on whether there's an LFO cycling it up and down non-stop. An envelope filter opens and closes in response to the level of your signal; it may be any sort of high-pass, low-pass, or band-pass filter. "Bottom" and "rocker" don't mean much. So, does the BR2 cycle up and down regardless of your playing, or does it only open/close with each note that you play?

im not 100% on this, but maybe this can help answer the question...

in the song Jambi by tool. there is an entire section where the bass is completely distorted and justin is just driving this open low D and at certain points, he turns the br-2 on and off for just the one note. and each time, he gets a bit of a different sound.

if that doesnt answer the question, i could look into the manual that came with it

i love how every thread i post in eventually turns into talking about envelope filters. i guess the funks rubbing off:D
