That's some great stuff in there! Made me want to get into slap again!!! Specially the Miller's "power" one! Great!

This is my first pedalboard, and it can get some great sounds I've never had before since it was always too much trouble to set the whole thing up. The multidrive+BDDI in particular is insane.

Hi guys,

I dont have a picture of my pedalboard yet as my camera has some weird problems with it.

This is my signal chain:

Fender Precision>Danelectro Fish N Chips>Hartke Bass Attack>CF7>Big Muff>LM-2B>Amp




  • The Fish N Chips serve as an EQ, while for the Hartke Bass Attack I use it mainly as a separate slap channel ( utilizing the SHAPE function on the unit ).
  • The Big Muff is my OD/Distortion and it works pretty well for what it does.
  • Ibanez CF-7 is my Chorus unit which isn't that good but I'm looking at the H2O Liquid Chorus for a replacement.
  • Boss LM-2B is my Compressor unit. It's a really sweet compressor. Transparent enough.



Question : Is there any problems with arranging my effects like this ? Are there any alternate and perhaps better arrangement for this given set of effects?

I love it when people ask this question :D

The best arrangement is always the one that you like best. There are no real "problems" with your chain at all, IMO. Personally, I'd have put the Big Muff up-front and the chorus at the end (after the compressor), but that's just me. I prefer keeping EQ controls after my distortion, but I do have my onboard EQ to work with before everything on my pedalboard, too.

I'm still experimenting and I cant say my ears are mature enough to discern what subtleties the change in arrangements might have. Will keep you guys updated on the results of my experimentation.

That's a lovely setup you have there, nad! This, my friends, is a shining example of a what a carefully selected boo-teek pedal collection looks like. I'll bet my English Muff'n that each and every pedal on that board was chosen for its specific sound qualities - a perfect illustration that individual pedals > multi-fx.

Experiment, Experiment, EXPERIMENT. :) in my pedalboard plan, I had the compressor last, but it's moved up to the front of the chain now. I also put my phaser before my Muff, rather than after; also something I had not planned. Try and figure out whatever sounds better/best :)

FINALLY MANAGED TO GET A PICTURE OF MY PEDALBOARD YAY!!!!!!! :D

The Signal Chain is easy to follow it goes FM4 > English Muff'n > DD-6 > Small Stone > Big Crush Compressor > Deep Blue Chorus. I would have a Big Muff before my FM4 if my guitarist would give it back! :mad:

Here's a few shots of my latest board setup:

Signal chain: BASS => MXR Blowtorch => EHX Little Big Muff => Morley Power Wah => EBS Multicomp => EHX Clone Theory => AMP

The pedalboard is a Pedaltrain Jr., and the cables are Planet Waves Cable Station cables. The pedals are currently powered by a 1 Spot, but I might get a Dunlop DC Brick soon, since I'd prefer not to run my Blowtorch on batteries only. I thought about a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power, but it's more expensive, takes up more space, and I doubt I'd really need that kind of feature-filled power supply with such a small board, especially since none of my pedals have ever presented any issues related to power.

The board is simple and effective. I'll be playing around with this for a while, to see if this is the final setup I want. I originally planned to keep the wah off the board, and put on my EHX Bass Micro Synthesizer, but I'm not sure if I'll still do that yet. Only time will tell! :bassist:

Whatever sounds best to you is best! But I like chorus after distortion better in most cases. I think I hear of people putting EQs after distorion more often so they can shape the tone of the distortion, but there could be reasons for doing it your way too.

I just would suggest to try out all possible combinations/orders of effects and see what sounds best to you.

what is that boss tuner? never seen it before... well, at least it says boss on it, and it looks like a tuner lol. Looks nice...

edit: found it! Link Removed looks alright, but I like chromatic tuners better, just in case I feel like being weird. I really like the design of it though... also it looks like they don't make it anymore :(
