Maybe not really 'vintage', as it's only a '93... but it's no longer made anyhow. The parts were made in Japan, and finished in PA by Ken Smith and his skeleton crew. So FWIW, here's my '93 Ken Smith Burner CR4, modded with a thumbrest (now replaced with a sleeker-looking-and-even-comfier Mahogany one- the one in photo is Ebony, and admittedly kind of bulky-looking):

An 77 Aria Pro II 'Precise Bass' and an early 80's Tokai APB '57. The Tokai is gone but the Aria has a permanent home w/ me.

1972 Degas P Bass copy. Bought brand new and its gone through some changes: who hasn't in 37 years.
Its now fretless ( since I heard Jaco in'76) , has a Hi-A guitar humbucker ( since 76?) and its tuned as a tenor A-D-G-C low to high. Still an amazing neck

Found this one in Winter Park, FL while on vacation - at a place called Atomic Guitars - it was in pieces and got it for a big $75 :bassist:

I sold mine a few weeks back.... for $150 :| was crushed when it sold so cheap on ebay.

I gave my westone Thunder 1-A to my father in law the same day...

one week later I dropped my westone spectrum ST and broke its neck... now im westoneless :(

since we are paused for a moment on Westone, I had a Dynasty way back identical to this one, but never had a Westone Bass... was one of the ones you mentioned shaped like this??

or did they even make this shape in a bass?

yep, they made those; it was called the "westone dynasty bass" i'v never seen one myself but i'v seen articles and photos online...

Awesome! I love how the pickups on these basses sound. Also, I just took a look at your blog. Fantastic work you've got going on.
