Posting Sound Clips

I've got a 1.6MB sound clip in mp3 format all ready to go. The attachment guide states a 2.00MB max on mp3 attachments. When I try to upload the clip I get a message telling me that I'm over my quota by 1.2 MB. How can that be if my attachment file is empty? Am I missing something?

Any insight on this issue is greatly appreciated.

Upload to a site like Link Removed or www.soundclick.com lots more upload space and its free.

Yeah, eventually I'll probably look into one of the audio hosting sites; but after finally getting my clip to within the alotted bandwidth, I'm kinda hoping to find out why it wont upload. I mean other people attach mp3's. You click on the link, it opens up in itunes or something simillar. I must be messing up something.

Oh well, maybe some one will chime in and set me straight.
