In bridged mode you don't even have to pull it out. That's my point. The sleeve is connected to the HOT side of the second channel, it's got the same voltage on it as the tip.

Agreed. 1/4" plugs do not belong in a bridged output setup, this also poses a potential short circuit to the amp outputs. not good. thanks prodjectMalamute

Don't EVER unplug the 1/4" plug while the amp is ON and tape any exposed barrels that don't have heat shrink or other insulator for protection against shorts on channel 2.

This is an easy upgrade (changing to Speakon connectors) but if you can't do it it doesn't take a highly qualified tech to do this enlist the help of a friend who is handy with electricity

So I shouldn't run speakon to 1/4"? So if the amp and cabinet both have speakon then you would just take one end apart (the amp end) and change the poles?

Right now my vintage cabinet only has 1/4" but I am selling it and going to get something with speakon anyway. I am not going to use bridge mode with my current cab bc it will probably destroy it...no way it needs that much power.

Quick question...let's say that I DO NOT want to use this cable as a bridge mono cable right now....is there a way to make the cable where it is speakon on 1 end and 1/4" on the other to use with the channel of the amp as the stereo (non-bridged) function? What poles would I connect to in order to do this?

Basically, I don't want to run the cab I have right now bridged b/c I think it is going to be too much power....so I just need the cable to be a speakon->1/4" for normal use.

Yep.
1+ to the tip of the 1/4" and 1- to the sleeve.
