Power Amp suggestions...

Hi fellow bassists,
I have just bought a Trace Elliot GP12XV Silverface Preamp off of Ebay that I am very pleased with in my recording sessions, but I would like to integrate it into my live setup. I have never used a preamp/poweramp setup before and I would really appreciate advice on what power amp to get to use with my preamp and how to wire the whole thing up for a live gig.
Thanks,
Alec

I currently use a Carvin DCM 600. I bought it used for a couple hundred dollars. The newer ones are a little lighter and 1000W at @4ohmfor around $400 shipped if I remember right. I've been happy with mine. Years ago I used a Carver PM 1.5 and it rocked as well. Lots of power. Not real familar with your pre. But you should just come out your post eq 1/2 inch jackinto your power amp. You may have an XLR jack to come out if you're not using it for a DI.

I'm not as bothered about getting a large power output as I'm not doing huge gigs.
I've done some research into my preamp and apparently I need a power amp with a low input sensitivity.
Any ideas?

I have been running a QSC plx 1202 for 10 years or so and I have never had a problem with it. Reasonably light, great punchy sound and I have never managed to shut it down. In mono it pushes 700 watts at 8 ohms and 1100 watts at 4 ohms. Considering what they go for used you cant go wrong.
