Power Amp tech Q's

Hi Everyone,
I'm brand new here - so please be gentle, Hi.
I'm also on the Orange and Ampeg forums under the same name.
A bass plyr of 9 years, looking to upgrade my rig.

I've just bought a SVP-CL pre-amp, and I'm looking for a power-amp to go with it. Will any poweramp do?

I spoke to a guy recently who said any decent general amp, like the crown, qsc, samson etc....are all made for PA - and will have way too much high frequency to be useable for a bass rig.
Is this true? :eyebrow:

Also - I'm thinking about the Crown XLS602A, the Samson SX1800 or some others from Alto, Peak or Biema. Opinions?

Thanks everyone,
smo

so he was talking out his behind then............. :hmm:

Well - have any of you guys used those brands i mentioned before?
Which ones are good/bad?

Thanks,
smo

The only poweramp I've used is the QSC I have now. It's strong. reliable, and insanely loud.

I hear nothing but good things about Crown, and Crest products, so I think if you decide to go with any of these companies i'm sure you won't be dissapointed.
