Power Amp Won't Run 2 Cabs Without 2 Inputs

Yeah. I assumed it could take a mono input and send it out in stereo but according to them and from my own personal experience that is not the case.

Behringer just got back to me and sure enough if you want to run both outputs you need to connect both inputs. That is actually a relief because I was worried something was wrong.

Oh, well...guess you'll need to snag the aforementioned splitter. Given this design limitation, why did they even put the "mono" option on the unit when "stereo" and "bridge" which would have been sufficient? Cheap fix. Hope you get it up to spec with no more headaches.

I can run it just fine with a line from the direct out AND the fx send on the head but I've been eyeballing some dual output bass preamps so I might just do away with the GK Backline 600 altogether. Would weigh less, take up one less rack space and who knows, and this might be stretching it a bit but it might just sound better. lol

There must be a way to effectively split a single signal from any pre's 1/4" output. I just hate the idea of tying up two preamp outputs when one will suffice. IIRC, I have something in my junkbox like a Hosa 1/4" > (2) 1/4" mono splitter cable. Can't recall the exact designation or why I even have the durn thing.

Indeed, splitters work just fine. I have one kicking around somewhere as I've had one or another power amp wired that way myself.

FX send. You can probably run either and there are splitter cables for the XLR but I like to keep the DI free to send signal to the desk.

Agreed, you don't want to tie up your DI. Also, in some cases you might have impedance differences. I don't know your amp. FX send + splitter should give you "dual mono", the hard way
