Power Amps

you will need a pre-amp, as instrument level is not enough
for the power amp inputs.
if you cant afford one now, use a mixing board, the output of
it is pre-amp level.
you can buy a behringer 4 channel mixer for about $69 bucks

Would I be able to use a power amp for a bass amp, I would have to use a EQ to adjust my sound but would it damage the amp?

i swear by power/pre amps. if you have great onboard eq that you are happy with, a good DI box might be the ticket: Invalid Link Removed
i love tube pres, so many choices though, that word of mouth becomes a good rule of thumb (along with the sticker price...).
