Power Supply Options....

Hey there smart folks of TalkBass Effects land... getting ready to finally finally finally rebuild by pedal board... I think this is V4.0....

anyway, here's what I'm going to be powering:

Pearl OC7 Octaver
Zvex Woolly Mammoth
Subdecay Noisebox (why did this brilliant thing ever leave my board!?!?!?)
BugCrusher
WMD Fatman
SFX Thumpinator
Custom Xerograph
Boss PS6
Moog MP201
Line6 M9

possible additions, but unlikely: MXR compressor, DBX120xp under the board to terrify the unsuspecting subwoofers...

I know there are a lot of new power supply options out there, and I've been pretty ghetto about my power since a Swiss stage tech blew up by Voodoo labs power supply 8 years ago... DC bricks and onespots.... but I'm tired of that and want to sesh up.

I'm currently using the CAE MC-403, mostly for its capability to run multiple higher voltage pedals, plus a couple AC should the need ever arise. But the Cioks stuff is great too. There really are a ton of great options out there these days.

oh, forgot will also be powering a midi tap tempo pedal and a 4x midi splitter.

Your needs look pretty basic unless I'm missing something! I use a CIOKS AC-10 and really dig it for its options for AC and high current pedals. They have the most versatile supplies I have seen in that regard.

interesting on the cioks page is this, for all m9 users... actual load and power requirements!

I was just about to say that the AC10 looks like a perfect fit. The MC403 would be a bit of overkill.

The MC403 is cool, but I was surprised at the low current on tap- only 80 mA on the 9VDC taps, and only 125mA on the 18VDC taps. That's cutting it close for some of the digital effects out there nowadays.

yeah, I was surprised at the low current on that as well... deal breaker for me with the m9 and mp201.

If you don't need AC for any the DC-10 is great as well and offers more high current DC outs and their Ciokolate is their big'un but probably more than you need

I am a big fan of the Fuel Tank Chameleon as it can provide just about anything to anything, has higher milliamp draws covered and can do 9,12,18. I have yet to find a pedal that I can't power without issue.

Outlet 1-2: 9V DC / 100mA each
Outlet 3-4: 9 or 12V DC / 200mA each
Outlet 5-6: 9 and 12 or 15V DC / 600mA*
Outlet 7-8: 9 or 12V AC / 800mA*
Outlet 9-10: 9, 12 or 16V AC / 800mA
* only one of these two sections can be used

can you only either use 5-6 or 7-8?

Yes- that section is switchable between DC or AC, while the last section is AC only. I used to use both AC sections when I first bought mine, but now just use DC and put my Boomerang 3 on the AC section.
