Powered mixer question

Hello,

I wanted to run a snake from my powered mixer and understand I would have to do a few things in order to do so. I would like to fix from the crowd and know I need to get rid of the powered mixer and take a step up to a new system.

For now can I just run 50ft mic cables to the mics from the crowd to mix? will I lose any power or anything?

Thanks

If you're asking about using a snake channel to run the amp output back up to the stage, don't even try it.

Go get yourself a few heavy, at least 12ga, extension cords (AC) from somewhere and convert them to speaker cables.

I've done it before without issue, and its way cheaper than premade 50+' speaker cable

Unless I'm reading it wrong, it seems you're suggesting you can't use a powered mixer if you use a snake. This is not the case. Just buy a snake, run all your mic and line in stuff from stage into the snake and plug the other end of the snake into your powered mixer channel ins as needed. If your speaker cables aren't long enough, buy new ones. DO NOT use the snake to power the speakers...BAD.
