Actually, if want the high gain guitar amp with more bottom thing, get a high gain guitar amp into the 8x10 and a SS cheap but powerful (peavey) amp into the 1515, and not even bother with the 6.

Powerful tube amp for Stoner/Doom (Orange? Sunn?)

I would also add that a Bass Big Muff Deluxe or Colorsound Tonebender Fuzzbox would be a great addition for this genre. I REALLY love my BBMD...through my Traynor YBA200 and Kasino 2x15's it is MASSIVE and brutal sounding.
Fender super baseman 300. The thing slays and could absolutely do doom/sludge/stoner and many other genres. Extremely versatile.
Yep. What I really like is that my amp's overdrive is grindy, rather than fuzzy, if that makes any sense. It doesn't get any less defined sounding as it overdrives... just meaner.
Another Fender Super Bassman 300 vote here. Love mine. Very loud. Very versatile. Reliable. Not too heavy (65lbs) & here in Aus at least, is a lot cheaper than the Ampeg tubers ( imo a lot nicer too)
not sure one measly 200w D-180 could achieve the desired level of deafness the OP is seeking.
probably much better to have 2 Fender 300 Superbassman's and 2 8x10's for each amp.
Then make sure to turn it all up to 11, and put yer head right next to it, and play (slow and dirgey) power chords for a few hours without hearing protection.

Avoid KT120 tubes like the plague. lots of reliabilty issues. KT88, 6550, 6L6/7027 are all proven designs. I find 200 watt amps, in general, to be the sweet spot, good headroom, volume and low end but not too loud that you can't crank them a bit to get some power tube drive. Having said that it really depends on your cab, using and efficient design like a fearful you may find 200 watts be too much and you could get away with 100 watt amps like a V4B or YBA-3.

The D-180 is not "measly."
I use mine for stoner/doom all the time (just ask our tech, ha). It helps that I'm going through a gigantic, loud cab, but it is definitely loud enough, so long as you don't want super sparkly clean.
ah well, I was just joking my fellow bay arean, referring to the "measly" 200w of the great D-180. No offense meant in that remark anyway.

While meant to be somewhat (gently) sarcastic, such a rig would achieve at least one of the OP's goals.
None taken. 180 watts doesn't seem like much, but it's a pretty loud amp. As long as you have a big cab or two, to go with it.
That said, I'm considering saving up for a Strategy, but that's partly because it'll be lighter and easier to carry than my D-180 in its case while also being much more powerful. I'll probably stick with the D-180 for quite a while even so, as I want to save up enough to be able to keep it as a backup. Probably a year or two away, anyway.

I am deciding between a Prodigy and a Strategy right now myself.
Key question at the moment, aside from the cost differences, is, given that I have a 300w hybrid (Walkabout) and a 200w all tube (Fender Studio Bass), why would I want to add a 250w all tube amp to the mix. The 465w Strategy would seem to be a better, more logical addition, particularly considering its 1/2 (230w) and 1/4 (100ish watts) power switch feature.
OTOH, there is also the sense that the Prodigy is intended to provide a bit more refined performance (much more in my playing style) whereas the Strategy design is intended as more of a power beast/rock style amp (which makes a certain sense given its fairly massive tube wattage).

I re-amped through a Splawn amp, can't remember which one but it had (4) KT88s. Ran it through a bass 4x12 and mic'd with a Sennie 421. You wanna talk about tone... OMG. That thing sounded amazing!

yeah, they both have power reduction switches. Its just that with a 250w amp, I'm not sure I would ever want/need to run it at 125w.
I don't do dirty/grindy and I think that most people who use the reduced power setting are seeking to get tube distortion by cutting the overall power level, and then pushing the preamp gain and power sections.
OTOH, cutting 465w down to 230w could be very useful. And really, who wouldn't want 465w of tube goodness to work with ?
