Done
The level, crown and polish is done. Between it being leveled out, and the fact that I strung it with flats, it is now set up with less relief and lower action than I have ever been able to get in the past, by a significant amount.
Low enough that I had to cut down my saddles, because they wouldn't go low enough as is. Unfortunately I couldn't remove material from their undersides since there is an embedded piece of steel plus there is a groove I would have had to recreate. So, I had to cut back the tops.
Two pics — first is after a first cut back and ready for testing with the new shorter screws that I had to cut and polish up, and second is final after a second cut and some finish applied. I used CA rather than the original oil-based finish.
