Practice: Tools to remove bass tracks?

Has anyone tried Neural-Mix or Virtual DJ to remove bass tracks for practice purposes?

We're thinking of recording cover of some tracks with friends and I got the idea of splitting original songs into separate tracks in Garage Band so that everyone can replace the original track with their own and thought it might be a good way to practice over other recordings.

I haven't tried those, but I've used moises.ai for a dozen or so songs to do just what you suggest. Overall I'm amazed at what a good job it does. Some splits came out very well, most fairly well and a couple were a complete mess. About what you'd expect I guess. Really depends on the particular track you feed it. Some old Atlantic/Stax stuff came out well separated; Black Keys, not so much. And they don't really sound like isolated tracks. More like the whole band had played together but been miked separately so you get some bleed through. In short, mixed results but for a practice tool very handy.
