I've known Prakash since the late 70s. He's a legend around here in Toronto and was one of my inspirations after I first heard him play with his band "The Lincolns".
He really had a style and sound, unique to my ear. He could light a fire in any groove he played. The thing I always loved about his playing is that it meant something , he made the notes jump out from his attack and feel ,and had a way of sounding so inspired and committed to any song he was playing. Which he was.
He's still playing around town with his son actually, a very talented guitarist, singer, writer and drummer. Prakash was the reason I started listening to, and then playing soul/R and B. I'm glad he's getting a little press here as he deserves it!
