Pre amp and Overdrive shoot out

JohnK pedals are the hotness, worth every penny and then some. I have a Ginger that i loves more and more every day.

The guy has put so much work into it! Not all the pedals you're considering, but a fair few.
I was in a similar situation to you when I stumbled across this - I was considering the darkglass b3k, the b7k, the vmt, the aguilar agro and the pigtronix fat drive for overdrive. Preamps I was considering were the tonehammer, the b7k, the VT bass and the rusty box. Having been on this link and listened to all the sound clips I think the tonehammer and b3k are for me!
Now it's just being able to scrape the money together!

Following this! Considered a VT Bass DI to add to the pre amp section? Curious to hear how it stacks up. And it's a pity the new MXR bass pre amp isn't out yet.
I feel like I should send along my Recovery 9-Volt Disaster, to see how it fares. It's been a real sleeper for me on the OD front. I've tried to sell it 3 times but can never part with it. I've been wanting to try Recovery's Northwest Lightning OD, too. It's a more straightforward OD.

Yeaaaaaa Duke, where you been?!? I bet hes been busy with work. Friggen work, always gettin in the way of our bass time. 
I'm interested to see/hear what you come up with. Doing shootouts takes significantly more time than you think it will, I get it. If I could do mine again I probably would double my time spent to make sure each pedal got it's due. Anyway, you've got a whole lot more to try than I did. Best of luck! Come up with a process and stick to it.
